🌍 Unlocking Every Voice: Starlight’s 20 New EAL Language Packs

When we built Starlight, our goal was simple — to create a coaching and performance engine for schools that could turn insight into progress. Since launch, Starlight has helped teachers reflect, grow, and refine their practice through AI-powered lesson feedback. Today, it also helps them reach every learner in the room.

We’re proud to announce the release of 20 new Starlight Language Packs, covering the top EAL languages spoken by the 1.6 million EAL students in UK schools — Polish, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Romanian, Portuguese, Spanish, Panjabi, Turkish, Somali, Albanian, Bulgarian, Farsi, Dari, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Italian, Russian, French, and Kurdish. This update positions Starlight as one of the first systems in education to deliver dynamic bilingual lesson scaffolds — instantly generating resources that adapt to each classroom, each subject, and each learner.

Each Language Pack can analyse a lesson transcript and produce dual-language glossaries, summaries, sentence stems, retrieval quizzes, and comprehension checks, all aligned to the teacher’s own content. Teachers can now pre-teach key vocabulary, scaffold complex ideas, and reinforce understanding — all in both English and the learner’s home language.

This development doesn’t replace great teaching; it amplifies it. It brings Starlight’s ethos — “Spark Insight, Engineer Progress” — to a new frontier: multilingual access and inclusion. With these packs, every transcript can become a bridge between languages, helping schools reduce workload while ensuring that every student can participate and thrive.

The Language Packs will shortly be going live in Template Libraries across all our schools. Teachers can also clone, adapt, and personalise them using Starlight’s Template system — a core part of the upcoming Template Universe, which will open later this year.
